Help Lions serve the community!
The main fundraiser for the past 45 years had been the Thanksgiving Basketball Classic at the Sheridan College. And then came Covid-19.... The College decided to cancel all sports except for rodeo.
With the help of Jordan LeDuc, from the Sheridan Bicycle Company, the Club has done a bicycle ride on pavement for 5 years with limited success. Jordan suggested we provide a longer ride, and do it off pavement as much as possible, thus the Mane Event, 2021 Gravel Grinder Bike Ride. With the funds from this event the Club will be able to continue with their projects to benefit Sheridan and the residents of the Community.
The largest impact the Club has is through vision-related work. This includes purchasing exams and eye glasses for those who are unable to purchase them. Also, the Club conducts free vision screening for young children in the area. These screenings have been done in Sheridan, Big Horn, Ranchester, Clearmont, Arvada, Kaycee and on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana at the schools Wyola and Lodge Grass.
Some of the other projects the Lions are involved in are:
The Sheridan Sundowners Lions Club represents a merger of two Lions Clubs in Sheridan, Wyoming and was chartered on May 26, 1921. Lions Clubs strive to meet the needs of their local communities and to serve others.
